NW Acts 1 Gathering

Last week the DTS from YWAM Montana joined us here in Salem for the Acts 1 NW Gathering. During the week the DTS joined us, Mission Adventures, for two Street Surges.

On Wednesday we took both the Salem DTS and the Montana DTS downtown for Cross Walk and Worship. Everyone included we had near eighty (80) people in this outreach!

We split the students into two groups, one staying at River Front Park and another staying on the Capital grounds to worship. We then took students in groups of twenty (20) and carried the cross back and forth, trading out students as we went.

For all the times that we have run this outreach I believe this one grabbed the attention of Salem. Several people joined one of the groups and a reporter from one of the local journals joined a group as well. The purpose of this outreach isn’t to get attention, but to relate with Christ and the humiliationshame and hardship He went through for us. Students got to experience that and then join in song and praise their Maker, all in public. This might seem like a simple challenge, but it is one that can change a heart.

We must first start with our own heart, then we can share Christ in our city, state, country and to the ends of the earth.

“He said to them, ‘It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority. 8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:7
