Hey MA Peeps,
I wanted to share with you an awesome testimony and ask for your prayers. In October, we will be hosting the first annual Youth Pastors Olympics here in Salem. So far we have 10 local youth pastors signed up. May not seem like a huge number, but trust me, getting 10 youth pastors together for an even like this has taken years of relationship building. It is a 10 event thing, and each youth pastor pitches in $25.00 entrance fee….which we as MA will match the total brought in ….and then we are using the income generated to bless a local charity here in Salem. It is a win win for everyone! A Few things I have already seen happen with this. One, our relationship with local youth pastors continues to grow stronger. Two, we hit a “niche” that no one else has. Come on…Youth Pastor Olympics!!! Yeah baby!!! Third, we get youth pastors giving back to our city…..no strings attached!! Fourth, our city sees Christians contributing to the better welfare of the city! Five, our YWAM base again is seeing Mission Adventures as something way more than summer and spring break missions trips!! Giddy up!!
I share this because I am excited about it, and I want to spur you all on to dream big with God about your MA programs. Develop them beyond what you are doing now. Look to new horizons on how your program can impact your city! Embrace the “What would Lewis and Clark do?” ideology and go for it man!!
Lastly, as you know from my last email we are doing a once a month “bless your city” day with local youth pastors, ywam’ers, and anyone else who wants to come. This Friday we are serving our Dept. of Parks and Rec by scraping picnic tables and repainting them. Guess how many youth pastors have signed up for our first one? ZERO. Giddy up! We press on….we refuse to quit….we trust in small beginnings.
As the old saying goes..”you can give it a nice name…but in the end its still a dumb cat”
Love
Tim
