Leading Moves of God (156 KB PDF)Several years ago, I had the privilege of attending a leader’s meeting at YWAM Los Angeles. Joy Dawson gave a powerful, practical message on how to co-create with God when you’re responsible for leading the meeting. If you’ve ever attended one of our WAVES Gatherings, we’ve done our best to model this in Mission Adventures. As most of us are responsible to run meetings in Mission Adventures, I thought it would be cool to share this info with you.
Sadly, I couldn’t find my notes from this meeting—it was a loooong time ago, before I had a laptop even. But, our good friend, Marty Meyer of YWAM Idaho had his notes, (way to go, Marty!). So he sent me some scans and I typed them up for your reading pleasure. Joy broke her message down into three parts:
Leading Moves of God
Ten practical points including the importance of creating opportunities for application when teaching the Word of God.
How to Lead When the Gifts of the Spirit Are Operating
Great stuff including how to take an offering and what to do when things go wrong.
The Ways of God in Programming
How to choose a speaker and other practical tips.
Please Note: Keep in mind the context in which this informatino was shared. This message was for leaders and emerging leaders in Youth With A Mission. Information may have been presented to this audience differently than it would have been to the general public.
Also Note: This is not a transcript of Dawson’s message. This is a rewrite of Marty Meyer’s notes. We make no claim that these notes are complete or that they accurately reflect everything in the message. There is no lifeguard on duty, so read at your own risk!
