Expand Heaven Name Tags | © 2011 Mission Adventures StudioThe Prophet Isaiah, inspired by the Holy Spirit writes, “I have called you by name and you are mine.” (Isaiah 43:1b NLT). This is a powerful thing that most of us modern-day believers don’t fully understand. In Old Testament times, it was believed that names had power–that they described the essence of a person. God’s name was so important and so powerful that his people refused to speak it aloud. So this idea of God himself actually knowing our names and calling out to us is an indication of the incredible personal nature of our God.
Print Your Own Name Tags Are Available Now
So why am I ranting on about some obscure verse in the Old Testament? Well, I suppose it’s because I just posted a Name Tag file on the Expand Heaven Here page. (You can also click the image above to download the file). You can use this PDF file to print your own themed name tags. As you can see above, these tags are gorgeous and fit our Expand Heaven theme. (Of course, you can buy our already printed name tags. These are durable—they’re made with a gorgeous 20 pt cover stock. That’s printer-talk for really really thick—about a millimeter. And they come with a lanyard so it’s easy for your participants to wear their name tags. Look for them on the Order Form or the Expand Heaven Here Online Store).
Please Use Tags
Even if you don’t use the downloadable ones or the ones you can buy from us, please do use name tags. Make them big enough so that people can read them from around ten to fifteen feet, (around four meters). That way you can use a person’s name, and not “hey you.” Believe it or not, this has a powerful effect on your participants. Using a person’s name indicates that you know them, and that you care enough to learn who they are. Using a person’s name leads to an increase in relationship, and since your time with your participants will be short, you’re going to want to create relationships quickly. And we all know that having relationships with your participants allows you to actually minister to them. And isn’t that a big part of why we do what we do? See, this name tag thing is important!
The Many Benefits of Name Tags
- Helps you learn people’s names quickly and reinforces the value we place on each person in our community.
- Provides for greater security on your base—those in your community without name tags are easily identified as strangers. You can train your staff to be on the lookout for those without tags and make a point of finding out who they are and why they are there.
- Our themed name tags reinforce the message of Expand Heaven Here and are a continuous reminder of our mission.
- Our themed name tags also carry the Mission Adventures and YWAM branding.
- Kids often take them home as mementos of their outreach—some repeat customers even have a collection of tags! These remind them of the things God did while they were participating in your ministry.
So there you have it—use name tags!
